Jaune was in bed when those words appeared right in front of him. He had kept himself awake, waiting for everyone else to fall asleep. Only for him to almost scream in shock when the floating wall of text appeared just a few inches from his face. Jaune closed his eyes and took several deep breaths. Was the guilt about what he was about to do causing him to see things? The next thought was if this was his semblance, but that couldn't be right. His aura wasn't even unlocked. He tried to unlock it in the past, but his dad somehow always found out. Finally, with a deep breath, Jaune pressed the NEW GAME option. Said screen disappeared before being replaced with a new one.
PLEASE ENTER YOUR FULL NAME:_
"Alright, Jaune Arc"
Hello Jaune Arc, and welcome to Remnant the Game. The game where every little choice matters (no do-overs), and what you do will help determine the world's fate.
" Gee, no pressure." Went through Jaune's mind as he read on.
Would you like to enter character customization or continue with your current build?
Current build? That was a surprise; Jaune wasn't aware he had an existing build. He still needed to be trained in fighting. He pressed the current build option.
Would you like to be Human Knight (civilian)? ( y / n )
" Huh, that sounds interesting. But I wonder what the other options are ?" Picking the no options, Jaune was brought back to the prompt. When choosing the other option, an exhaustive list of different Human and Faunus-looking people. Various names ranged from Orc, Sylvari, warforged, and everything in between. The two that caught his eye the most were; Nephilim and Faunus.
"Alright, might as well see what they are in order." Jaune wanted to see what said three would offer him.

FAUNUS

Choose Faunus as your race? (y/n)
Jaune thought long and hard about which of the two he should pick. Both had their pros and cons. "While both of the races have similar base traits, the main difference being what stats are increased. If I go with the Faunus, my stat boost is already chosen. Plus, there's the fact that Beacon is landlocked, meaning that my special terrain would be mostly useless. It'd be best to go with the Nephelim. The wings would allow me to fly, making it easier to fight Grimm, and see any surprises that might be lurking ahead." Jaune went back to the Nephilim option and pressed the yes option.
Congratulations for thoroughly thinking through what race you would prefer to be; you have been given 1 point in both Wisdom and Intelligence.
Choose which stat you would like to increase:
STRENGTH
DEXTERITY
CONSTITUTION
INTELLIGENCE
WISDOM
CHARISMA
Again, Jaune thought about what stat would be most beneficial. After a few seconds of internal debate, he decided to put the boost in dexterity.
Now that you have chosen your starting race, it is time to choose your starting class. Choose from the following classes.
Shield Master
Knight
Guardian Knight
Brawler
Gunslinger
Immediately Jaune dismissed the Gunslinger, Brawler, and Shield Master options. About to click on the Knight option, his eyes fell back on Guardian Knight. He wanted to fight with a sword and shield, and those three didn't seem like they used those.
"Wait, what exactly does a Guardian Kight have that a Knight wouldn't?" Jaune clicked on the Guardian Knight option.
Whereas Knights are in service to their king and swear loyalty to them, Guardian knights serve no such monarch. They live to protect the people from tyranny, wherever it might be. Should said tyranny arise from foreign or domestic powers, it makes no difference to the Guardian Knight.
ARMOR: You are experienced with Light, Medium, and Heavy Armor. You are experienced with Shields.

Choose Shield Guardian as your class? (y/n)
Jaune was 100% certain that if the box had been physical, it would have shattered when he hit the yes icon. Not only would he be skilled in things that would help him become a huntsman and get an advantage by using a sword and shield, but he would also be getting an animal companion.
You have completed your character customization and are almost ready to begin.
"Wait... almost! What do I have to do actually to begin?" His question went ignored as a new screen popped up.
