Who is Jaune arc based off of? ›

Jaune is the youngest child of eight, all of which are sisters.

Character Basis

Lie Ren alludes to Hua Mulan, which follows JNPR's theme of people who dressed as the opposite gender. Mulan had to disguise herself as a man to sneak into the Chinese army. Ren's battle outfits have Chinese influences.

Jaune also got his own chance to wear clothes typically assigned to the female gender as he wore a dress to a dance at Beacon because of a promise he made to Pyrrha Nikkos.

Weiss is interested in Neptune from the moment she first meets him, much like Jaune is interested in her.

It is known that Pyrrha has feelings for Jaune; she is first seen scoping Jaune out before Ozpin's speech, and the two officially meet in the Beacon locker room as they are preparing for their initiation.

In "Confessions Within Cumulonimbus Clouds", she enters a romantic relationship with Blake, after confessing her feelings to her. In "Of Solitude and Self", she and her friends return to Remnant, where they arrive in the Kingdom of Vacuo.
